Seeds of AEB The term «African Energy Bank (AEB)» was first officially mentioned in 2022 when the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) signed an agreement with the African Petroleum Producers Organisation (APPO) to establish the Bank. However, ideas leading to the Bank’s conception were aired a year earlier in 2021 at the inaugural African Local Content Roundtable held at the Nigerian Content Tower in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. Did you know the event was hosted by the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), with APPO as a strategic partner, and Heritage Times HT as facilitator? It created a structured engagement platform for African oil-producing countries and indigenous players on local content and sustainability in hydrocarbon development. Now you know!
